In Their Absence
This song has unwittingly become our theme song. It ends nearly every show we do. I recorded this song acoustic, with strings in an effort to get an early version out to the public. Enjoy!

Now onto the fun stuff:
We were finally able to hit the road again and spent 3 days in Lincoln, NE
Left to right: Me, Naomi Whitney (from our sister church in Lincoln) and Kurt Larsen (my constant companion on the road)
All in all it was an amazing trip! 6 shows in less than 3 days. Back home here in the Twin Cities I’ve been busy with weekly visits to hospice patients and homeless and at-risk youth. God recently opened up a door for me to visit rape victims at the hospital and minister to them as well. I need your prayers and support now more than ever as I feel I’m entering into a new season of opportunties to love broken people. Thanks for your kindness and prayers for me over these 3 years! More news coming soon
Aforementioned “tweet” from the women’s shelter in Lincoln – so blessed by these ladies!
Jan. 8 I departed Minneapolis with my band for 7 performances in 72 hours, with our first stop in Chicago to partner with the Koinonia House in Glen Ellyn. We performed for a large group of 90 ex-cons at a church there that night, with my good friend Manny Mill. The ministry there was so thrilled by the music that they’ve asked me to join them there once or twice a month if possible, on their dime! Should be heading back there soon.
IFI Ministries asked me last fall to begin meeting with the musicians in their program and teaching them how to build and nuture worship teams for their church services. I leapt at the opportunity and I’ve been able to meet with the musicians 3 times before the end of the year. What a talented and hungry group of guys. Can’t wait to see where we’re at in 6 months!
November was busy! The beginning of the month took me to Phoenix, AZ where I was able to meet with another great ministry – CCTP. They help ex-cons get training and placement in the construction field. I was also able to perform for Extended Hands Ministries for a number of folks in recovery. It was an incredible night. Lots of tears shed and new relationships formed. I’ll be heading back towards the end of January and I’m so excited to connect with folks again.
Hey friends – big thanks to everyone who made my trip to North Carolina possible. Here’s a breakdown of the week:
– Friday night was pretty amazing. Played for about 140 women at Southern Correctional in Troy, NC. The gymnasium was pretty loud and the gals were incredibly engaged from the get go. Lots of tears shed and I had an opportunity to personally meet many of the women that night. My new friend Manda joined me (from Grace Church in Raleigh) – she did a fantastic job and knew my songs like they were old hat!
