Now onto the fun stuff:
Lincoln Nebraska, September ’17
We were finally able to hit the road again and spent 3 days in Lincoln, NE
Left to right: Me, Naomi Whitney (from our sister church in Lincoln) and Kurt Larsen (my constant companion on the road)
- Monday we visited the Nebraska State Penitentiary and did 2 shows back to back. Nearly 100 men prayed to recieve Christ and their reception of our music was deafening – ending in an extended standing ovation. This has become a recurring theme at our shows as continues to solidify this amazing mission field and music evangelism. The assistant warden invited his girlfriend to come see us play and they joined us for dinner afterward! He offered to help us get into any prison in the state of Nebraska!!
- Tuesday we played the campus on Lincoln and followed that up with a trip to a local women’s shelter where we played for a group of women. If was a powerful and very emotional time with some incredible connections made. (see the image below – they tweeted about our visit!)
- Wednesday we were back at the campus (where the Daily Nebraskan had just written an artice about our visit) and Wednesday night I was able to preach to about 60 students through The Rock Church at UNL.
All in all it was an amazing trip! 6 shows in less than 3 days. Back home here in the Twin Cities I’ve been busy with weekly visits to hospice patients and homeless and at-risk youth. God recently opened up a door for me to visit rape victims at the hospital and minister to them as well. I need your prayers and support now more than ever as I feel I’m entering into a new season of opportunties to love broken people. Thanks for your kindness and prayers for me over these 3 years! More news coming soon
Aforementioned “tweet” from the women’s shelter in Lincoln – so blessed by these ladies!
